The AATCA is the non-profit professional association representing the interests of Austrian civilian and military air traffic controllers.
The AATCA’s declared goals are as follows:
- to maintain the common professional, social and health-related interests of Austrian civilian and military air traffic controllers
- to reduce the job-related risks of air traffic controllers
- to actively be involved in creating new professional procedures and technical developments; to work out new proposals to improve processes, equipment and facilities
- to maintain high standards in terms of the knowledge and skills of air traffic controllers
- to spread information and to further train members by means of discussion evenings and lectures by experts
- to cooperate closely with national and international representative bodies:
- to participate at IFATCA Annual Conferences, IFATCA Regional Meetings and IFATCA/EUROCONTROL workshops
- to exchange experiences and information with the Austrian Cockpit Association (ACA) and IFALPA
- to provide assistance and support in the event of an incident or accident
- to provide social security to ATCOs in the case of not being covered by the company:
- our members are covered by occupational risk insurance and by a legal defence fund up to a maximum amount.
- To recommend legal counsel in aviation matters
